Are you familiar with that play? In fact, we're almost living it!

Michael Buckley
About This Quote

In the play, "A Streetcar Named Desire," Stanley is speaking to Blanche. He says, “Half an hour ago I was reading about your husband.” He adds, “And now I’m talking to him.” He's referring to the fact that he's talking to Blanche while she's still married to the man who is the main character in the play. Stanley is speaking about how time can change things. When he was reading about her husband, Stanley was thinking about how much time had passed since then and how far Stanley had come in his life since then.
